Why 59 Knives?
We get a lot of questions by our guests as to how the ‘59 knives’ got its name. We agree that it is quite a peculiar name, but of course there is a story behind it! The restaurant got its name during the transformation of the family’s home to a hotel. When designing the interior of the hotel, 59 vintage army knives were found in the basement of the house, which were included in an army lot that was purchased by Andreas Vassilopoulos, many years ago; hence the name 59 Knives.
