The Von World Pens Hall is a museum for pens and everything that has to do with writing.It is the only one of its kind in Europe representing almost all major pen manufacturing companies with over 2000 pices.There are Victorian pencil,vintange pens,ink pots,seals,stamps,dip pens and typerwriters,with some items dating back to the 15th and 16th century

The main Folk Art Museum in Cyprus, is housed in the Old Archbishopric Palace at Archbiscop Kiriakos Square.A historic building dating back to the 15th century with later additions.Presents masterpieces of weaving embroidery/lace costumes,pottery,metalwork,basketry,folk painting,leatherwork and woodcarving.It is also remarkable the 19th century door of Saint Mamas church that the Nobel prize-winning poet Georgios Seferis mentions in his poem"Little Things of Cyprus",wich he dedicated to his friend the painter and first Director of the Cyprus Folk Art Museum,Adamantios Diamantis.

The George & Nefeli Giabra Pierides Archeological Museum

The mezzanine floor of the refurbished building of the Bank of Cyprus CulturalFundation,at Phaneromeni in Old Nicosia,houses the Museum of the George and Nefeli Giabra Pierides Collection (donated by Clio and Solon Triandafylides).The Collection,wich includes over 600 items,has been described by experts as one of the richest in the world in Mycenaean pottery.It includes representative sample of pottery from the Geometric,Archaic,Roman and Medieval periods,terracotta figurines,an important collection of stone sculptures and seals,jewelry and bronze objects.

Museum Of The History Of Cypriot Coinage

The history of Cyprus from the time coins were first minted 2600 years ago to the present is brought to life by more than 500 coins arranged into nine historical period exhibited in twenty-three display cases.The presentation begins with coinage from the Cyprus City Kingdom (6th4th centuries B.C.) and ends with the Republic of Cyprus(1960).

The National Struggle (EOKA) Museum

The museum was founded after the end of the 1955-1959 National Liberation Struggled, by EOKA fighter Christodoulos Papachrysostomou. Specially designed new premises opened in 2001. The expenses were covered by the Holy Archebiscopic of Cyprus and the Cyprus Ministry of education and Culture. The museum display documents, photographic material, personal belongings of the heroes and other memorabilia related to the struggle against British Rule.

A beautifully restored 18th-century building now housing an ethnological museum.
It was the residence of Hadjigeorghakis the Dragoman to the Ottoman Port.

 


 

Ledra Observatory Museum

The Shakolas building sticks out like a sore thumb in the medieval old city.
Right in the middle of Ledra street, on its punultimate floor you find the observatory, where it's possible "to see" the division of the island. There is a cafe up there too.

Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation

The Cultural Foundation is permanently housed in the old administraitive headquarters of the Bank of Cyprus, near the Phaneromeni Church, in the Old Nicosia, within the Venetian walls. It houses the arceological musuem of the George and Nefeli Giabra Pierides Collection (donated by Clio and Solon Triantafyllides), the Agora (the fountanion's shop) and the Cultural Foundation's lecture hall. In the courtyard of the building, there is an open air theatre where musical and theatrical performances are staged.
